Greetings fellow SYC Members,
Once again this winter the Sudbury chapter of the Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons is offering a dry-land navigation and seamanship course.
Boating 2 and 3 (combined) gets underway on January 22 at the Living with Lakes Centre. This 12 week evening course (7 pm start time) is ideal for cruisers interested in expanding their knowledge in areas such as coastal navigation, chart work, anchoring, marlinspike, safety practices and more!
On-line registration, along with a full description of the course content, is now available at http://www.boatingcourses.ca/cities/Sudbury
The registration fee includes two course textbooks, a practice chart, CPS plotter, dividers, and – for successful graduates – a one-year complimentary membership in the Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons.

In early March we plan to offer Marine Electrical Maintenance (8 weeks) if there is sufficient interest. This course would run Thursday evenings from approximately March 7 to April 25.
To find out more about either of these courses, or to indicate an interest in Marine Electrical, please contact our Education Officer, Alain Landry, at 705 690 6140 or at alandry1988@gmail.com
Have a wonderful Christmas and excellent New Year! Fourteen weeks until the next Work Party!
