HAUL-OUT:
If you are taking advantage of the crane please inform Liam and try to make it down to help Friday afternoon.
Prior to haul-out please ensure the following:
⚓ Mast is down and rigging is properly removed or secured (ex. stays are secured)
⚓ Trailor is in good working condition (ex. tires inflated, jack working, hitch lubricated). Trailors were moved today to get ready and there were a number without jacks etc. Jacks are available for sale at Canadian Tire. Trailors without jacks are dangerous to the volunteers and have resulted in injury in the past.
⚓ Trailor is labeled/somehow identifiable so the crew know which trailor to bring down for each boat
⚓ Rudder removed or tillar free to ease steering of boats from slips to crane
⚓ Tag lines on bow and stern (20 ft) stern on starboard side (for towing and holding at dock before crane)
Note: while it is up to each member to winterize their vessel, we recommend that outboard motors are removed asap. There were a number of thefts last year (fall and spring)
